This #WeddingWednesday we are thrilled to share Alexandra and Josh’s breathtaking love story. Despite growing up in the same hometown, Alexandra and Josh didn’t cross paths until college at Penn State University. After spending time together with a group of mutual friends, they both realized they shared a connection that meant something more than just friends. After a sweet surprise of a proposal in a local park, the Weddings by JDK team had the honor of meeting this fun loving couple and learning about their special story.
Alexandra and Josh chose to retell their enchanted tale through an atmosphere they described as fun, classy, and romantic with bohemian glam accents. Their color story represented this desired look through elegant eggplant purples, classy champagnes, and striking pewter and charcoal accents. Alexandra’s ivory wedding gown laden with lace displayed the perfect satin purple sash to tie in with the theme for their special day.
View all of Alexandra and Josh’s eclectic floral arrangements, antique details, and stunning romance below captured by the talented Leslie Gilbert from Leslie Gilbert Photography. Also, don’t forget to snag a copy of the Fall 2013 Dream Weddings Magazine to see Alexandra and Josh’s feature story on page 48!
Alexandra’s hand tied bouquet was composed of a vibrant purple mix of orchids, roses, soft lambs ear, and fresh seasonal blooms. The bouquet’s ivory satin wrap was graced with lace and a treasured family heirloom. The bridal attendants’ bouquets presented the classic round garden style using a combination of lavender and pink peonies, roses, berries, and seasonal lush blooms wrapped in dark purple satin.
Floral design for the guest seating arrangements displayed a combination of an eclectic mix and elevated arrangements. The eclectic mix of milk glass containers, mercury glass vessels, and glass hobnail jars were filled with assorted purple and ivory blooms. Candlelight added the warming touch of romance to the tent’s atmosphere.
The floral design’s elevated arrangements included lush hydrangea blooms and romantic curly willow branches to add height throughout the reception’s design. Guests received miniature bottles of white wine at their place setting, which added the perfect champagne color accent to match Alexandra and Josh’s love story color scheme.
We adore sparkler send-off photos and this one is just pure perfection!
Congratulations, Alexandra and Josh!
